Diner Tips: A Refresher
We have seen an increase in courier inquiries asking how diner tips work. Let’s review!
When a diner places an order, the tip is set to default at 18% of the order’s food value. The diner can increase or decrease that amount before they place the order and up to two hours after the order is completed.
The courier app will show the “expected tip” amount for each order when the order is assigned. The expected tip is the average tip percentage in Chicago. The actual tip from the customer may be higher or lower than the expected tip but you will receive 100% of the tip regardless. Base pay, Peak Pay, and Milestones will not change if the customer changes their tip.
Two hours after you deliver the order, you will be able to see the tip amount for each order in your payout history.
That’s it!
New Restaurant Launch
This Wednesday, 7/24, we will be launching The Swill Inn of 415 N Milwaukee Avenue. What’s their jam? They’ve got mussels, they’ve got the walking taco, they’ve got a spicy chicken sammie, they sling poutine. You know, they’ve got the goods!
As with any launch, we’ll be sending out an email to all of the people who have ordered with Caviar in the past to clue them in to this new offering. It’s safe to say that there should be a healthy increase in orders coming from the fine folks at The Swill Inn.
Couriers interested in being assigned as many orders as possible can go online in one of our hot zones during the busy times of lunch (10-2) and dinner (5-9).
